Golf Tips- 5 Fun Tips for Teaching Golf to Kids

Golf tips for teaching golf to kids should always revolve around making sure that the kids have fun. Sure, it would be great if your son became the next Tiger Woods, but golf should be treated as a game, not a life or death struggle. These 5 tips will ensure that a child learns golf and enjoys it at the same time!

Tip 1) Keep Your Instructions Simple

If a parent is a golfer themselves, they have a tendancy to be technical about elements of the game. Trying to explain concepts like “tempo’ or “swing plane” will only confuse a child. A confused child is easily frustrated. Start by taking the child to a driving range, and start practicing putting. The child will gain confidence by successfully making contact with the ball.

Next, teach the child how to chip the ball. This is a good second step, because chips require little backswing. The child has a good chance of success striking the ball.

Finally the child will progress to the driving range area. When instructing a child on a full golf swing, it is important to make sure they keep their feet on the ground, watch the ball, and strike it. Keep your golf tips on taking a full swing VERY simple.

Tip 2) Let The Child Progress At Their Own Pace

One of the best golf tips I ever recieved as a child was to practice most frequently the parts of the game that I enjoyed most. This advice ensured that I would stay with the game long enough to see success. Once I saw success with the elements of the game I enjoyed most, I ventured out to practice new areas of the game. Never push a child to improve too quickly. Patience is the name of the game with children.

Tip 3) Have Fun!

Once a child senses that golf is no longer fun, they have a much greater chance of losing interest. Try to structure competitive, but enjoyable games. It is important to make sure that all the children are winners. Constantly praise and encourage the participants.

Tip 4) Use Good Judgement In Purchasing Golf Equipment

Buying a child expensive golf equipment is a risky decision. Children tend to lose interest in new areas very quickly. The wisest decision is to purchase a used set of clubs intended for women. The clubs will be light weight, and easy for a child to control. If the child has demonstrated that they will continue to play golf, professional instruction might be appropriate. Just make sure the child is getting golf tips from a pro who has lots of experience teaching kids.

Tip 5) Teach Golf Etiquette

Children should learn golf etiquette very early in the teaching process. They should understand very basic rules such as standing still when another golfer is striking the ball. Certainly they should learn never to speak when a fellow player is putting etc.

Hopefully, these golf tips for kids will enhance the possibility that a child will not only get involved with the game, but enjoy it as well!

Golf Instruction Online – Causes and Cures For the Hook Shot

Do we need to do everything perfectly to play a decent game of golf? Thankfully no we don’t. Even if we got close to the perfect swing every time things can still go wrong. Ask Tiger Woods or Retief Goosen.

These two great players have arguably two of the best, most classic swings in the world of golf. Do they hit bad shots? Well yes. I’ve seen Tiger have days when he can’t keep it on the fairway and Retief stay on the backfoot and hook it out of sight.

So no need to be perfect but if you have a fault you need to understand why it happens and be able to deal with it quickly. In this Golf Instruction Online article we will deal with the hook.

Here’s three things you can do to cure the problem.

#1. Check your grip. Simple as it sounds a lot of players get very strong with their grip, it gives them a sense of power. Make sure your hands are not turned too far to the right on the grip. If they are then rotate both hands towards the target, just don’t overdo it.

#2. Move the ball more towards your left foot. Or forward in the stance. If you play the ball too far back it will close your shoulder line, moving it forward will stop this.

#3. Make sure your weight transfers and you finish the swing with your weight on the front foot. In my opinion this is the most common reason for the hook shot. If your weight stays back it causes your hands and arms to outrace your body and flip the clubface over, wrapping the clubface around the ball and hooking it out the ball park.

So plenty to go try out there, hope this golf instruction online article helps you to eliminate your hook. Happy golfing.

Golf Swing Improvements – Learning All About Your Golf Swing

Golf swing improvements are something every golfer thinks about,
whether you’ve just started out or you’ve been playing golf for
the past 20 years.

In fact, even the pros get help with their
golf swing and hire professional golf swing instructors. Even
Tiger Woods constantly works to improve his golf swing. So how
do you go about making positive golf swing improvements?

A big difference between top golfers and the rest of us (besides
pure talent, of course) is that the top pros analyze their swings
so they can implement the necessary golf swing improvements into
their game. What do I mean by this?

Most golfers have days where they are hitting the ball beautifully
and days when nothing goes right. The problem is, most of us have
no idea what we are doing right on the good days and what we are
doing wrong on the bad days.

And that makes it tough for us to
improve our golf swing. The pros analyze and learn what mistakes
they are making so they can fix those problems in their golf swing
and minimize those mistakes in the future.

Ultimately, how good you get at golf is going to be determined by
your natural ability and talent. But everyone can make big improvements
in their golf game if they take the time to analyze and understand what
they are doing wrong.

If you can learn the fundamentals of a proper golf swing and repeat
them consistently, you’ll become a better golfer. And if you can
analyze your golf swing and understand the things you may be doing
wrong, you can improve your technique. The basics of a good golf
swing are as follows:

* Grip

* Stance (Posture)

* Hand and arm alignment

While you can improve your golf swing by understanding all the different
components of a good golf swing, this can also cause a lot of problems.

By focusing on the hundreds of little aspects of your golf swing (grip,
wrist cock, pullaway, hip movement, pivot, etc.) you overwhelm yourself
mentally and make it very hard to make a good swing.

A good idea is to watch golfers who have good golf swings and then try
and imitate them. By seeing those golf swings in your mind and trying
to duplicate it, you take away focusing all those hundreds of little
steps, freeing up your mind and body to focus on recreating a smooth
swing.

A classic book on this topic of improving sports performance through
this mental recreation is called The Inner Game of Tennis. Yes, the
topic is tennis, not golf, but the principles apply to any sport.

Stop overwhelming yourself mentally with a hundred different things
you need to do in your golf swing and try to recreate the image
of a good golf swing to improve your golf game.

Golf Swing Improvement – How to Increase Your Swing Speed by Doing Golf Fitness Training

Are you looking for more golf swing improvement tips? Then try what some of the more successful golf pros do – enroll in a golf fitness program. Golf fitness training will increase the power of your swing, adding 10 or 20 yards to your drive. Want some proof? Just look at Tiger Woods. He is one of the fittest pros on tour today. Or some of the top lady golfers like Annika Sorenstam. They are well-built and very fit, looking like Amazons.

How Does Golf Fitness Training Improve Your Golf Swing?

A good golf fitness program does 2 main things:

Improves your flexibility – Your flexibility determines the range of your backswing. The greater the range of your backswing, the more potential power you have. Increases your core strength – More core strength lets you rotate your body faster during your swing. Obviously, more speed in your rotation equals more power in your swing.

Here is a sample exercise common in many golf fitness programs, called the Russian Twist:

Get a medicine ball weighing 3 to 6 pounds Stand up, legs hip-width apart Draw in your stomach Lift the ball level with your chest while keeping your elbows bent Swing the ball explosively around to your right You will end up facing your right hand side, with both feet pointing right Repeat the swing to the left hand side

What To Do If You Are On A Tight Budget

Buying or joining a good golf fitness program is one of the cheapest methods of golf swing improvement. Nevertheless, college students and retirees are notorious for being on a tight budget. All is not lost. Here is a framework for a do-it-yourself golf fitness program. You want to take a three-pronged approach:

Stamina – When you have more stamina, you will remain fresh even at the end of a day’s golf. Even at the very last hole you play, you are better able to maintain the power of your swing. How to develop your stamina? Go for a walk regularly. Half-an-hour everyday, if you can manage it. The faster, the better. If you can manage a run, that is even better. Flexibility – How far can your backswing comfortably go? The 8 o’clock position? 9 o’clock? 10 o’clock? Whatever your range of motion is, just push it a little bit more and hold for 10 seconds, then release the position. Do as many repetitions as possible. Don’t forget your followthrough as well. Strength – Do some core strength training to strengthen all the muscles which stabilize your spine and pelvis. These are the muscles which transfer power from the large to the small body parts when you execute your golf swing techniques.

Here are some core training exercises which do not need any equipment, relying only on your bodyweight:

Prone Bridge Lateral Bridge Supine Bridge Pelvic Thrusts Curls Lunges Squats

As you can see, golf swing improvement is not difficult or expensive to achieve. The improvements you get from golf fitness training also bleed into your everyday life, giving you the bonus of improved health and flatter abs. In addition, you can do many golf fitness training exercises in your own home, even in winter when you can’t go to the golf course.
