What is POI? Its Point of Impact and there are multiple ways to look at POI. The first is the nature of your barrels to shoot straight and a second refers to proper gun fit.

Do your barrels actually send the shotstring on a straight line to the target? From a bench rest, as you would a rifle, does your shotstring hit the bulls-eye dead on, with 50% distribution on the top, bottom, left and right? Or is it slightly high, low or off center? If score is a priority in your game, this is an important piece of information. Your barrels should be shooting dead on.

Once that is established, the next question is, where do you personally want your POI to be?

50/50 (top and bottom) POI seems to be a favorite among sporting clays shooters. For good reasons, some skeet shooters favor a slightly higher POI and trap shooters higher still.

Assuming your barrels do shoot straight, stock dimensions, rib configurations and gun fit can all move or affect POI. Depending on your stock dimensionsrib configurationand how a stock fits youall move your shooting eye up or down behind the receiver. The final configuration of all this can directly affect your final X countand the number of birds in your game pouch.

Checking you POI is a good idea. Remember too, a good gun fitter and stocker can move that POI to precisely where you want it.

How To Swing A Golf Club

It’s all in the golf swing

Believe it or not, movement then actually goes straight down toward the legs and the hips.

The golf back swing is primarily about how your body is being coiled upwards thus creating the needed tension in the muscles as well as torque to be able to let out that all powerful down swing. Particularly, that the back swing is created anywhere in between the golfer’s turning his or her upper body as well as shoulders and the turning – to a lesser degree – the lower body and the hips.

Relax

It is highly recommended that one be aware do the swing in a speedy manner. If a back swing is done in a hurriedly, the down swing doesn’t swing fast, in actuality it could do the exact opposite.

The back swing speed should be in a tempo that is steady and shouldn’t be fast nor slow. For certain, some golfers have a habit to swing either too fast or slow in the down swing. Anytime you catch yourself or are aware of you doing this, try to slow it down a bit.

The move down swing

When you reach the down swing, all you really need to do is to just let it go. Let the down swing happen. Yet, this only applies if ever you were able to begin with a golf stance, back swing and grip that is correct.

The down swing must be the natural result of all that went before it. If you were able to perform your back swing in the correct form, your body will unwind in itself thus swinging the club and hitting the ball with a follow through this balanced.

The follow-through move

A follow through might be best viewed as the feather in your cap move. The legs must be fairly straight and the hips need to form a straight line together with the legs.

This move will be the gauge of the entire golf swing you have just performed. You need to know that you were able to pull a swing that is smooth and balanced if in the end you have a position that looks like the letter C, only in reverse.
