This will generate speed and power as you wind toward the point of impact. At impact make sure the shaft of the club is leaning forward toward the target and your weight should be on the outside of your lead foot and the inside of the trailing foot.

As you follow through your belt buckle should be facing the target at which you are aiming. The club will be behind your head and you should be balanced on your lead foot and the back foot balanced on its toe. These are the steps on how to swing a golf club but the key to mastering these steps is to practice, practice and then practice some more.

How the legs moves in the golf swing is up to public opinion. Line up 100 players and instructors and they’ll all say something different. It’s how they need to move for YOU that really counts.

You have a unique swing that your body produces, and the moves your legs make are also unique to you. It’s not all bad to find the conventional movements of the legs for your golf swing, but bare in mind, it’s all based on your current physical ability.

Establishing Your Perfect Golf Swing



Many experts would agree that most golfers take their swing too seriously. Learn the basics, practice a lot and stay out of your own way!

Here are the basic steps for a full and perfect golf swing:

1. Grip the club with your left hand so that your thumb lies along the shaft. The line between your thumb and index finger should point toward your right eye. Wrap your right hand over your left so that your left thumb fits into the cup of the right palm. If you are left-handed, reverse these instructions.

2. Stand with your feet about shoulder-width apart with your right foot pointing straight ahead and your left foot slightly to the left. Bend at your hips, keeping your back straight and your knees flexed. Distribute your weight evenly from front to back and left to right.

3. For the backswing, shift your weight to your right foot. At the same time, tilt your shoulders vertically so that your left shoulder points down, and right shoulder points up. The left end of the club will be pointing approximately at or behind the ball. As youre shifting your weight to your right foot, release to the instep of your left foot so you can get behind the ball. Ensure that your right foot, right hip and head are in a vertical line. Begin your backswing with your hands, followed immediately by your arms and shoulders. Dont hurry. This wont create a faster downswing. Keep your pace steady throughout your backswing. If you arent happy with your golf swing, this is one of the first corrections to try. Slow down your backswing.

4. For the downswing and impact, start with your hips. Shift your weight to your left foot by leading with your hips in a slight lateral motion. Point the club end in your right elbow down at your right foot. At the same time, shift to the instep of your right foot so that most of your weight is on your left foot. Release your hips by rotating them through, so that your hips, belly button, and shoulders are facing the target. Your right toe is just balancing you, not supporting any weight. Hold the finish position. Look down the target line, not down at the ground.

Many golf professionals say that eighty percent of the perfect golf swing is the body pivot. This involves three main components:

the turning of the body back, down and through

the correct weight shift throughout the swing

balance

Any loss of balance throughout the golf swing means that there is a pivot and weight shift problem. That will be reflected in the direction, loft and speed of the ball. Review these steps until you are comfortable and then keep practicing. The perfect golf swing is within your reach!

Golf Swing Hip Rotation – The Secret to Explosive Power



The power hidden inside your existing golf swing can easily be tapped with a proper hip rotation. If you suffer from a slicing golf ball, shorter drives than you would like, or a higher score than you would like, focusing your swing around your hip rotation can quickly give you an extreme distance and accuracy boost.

Contrary to what most people believe, about 85% of the power in your swing comes from your hips, just as it does in a baseball swing, a boxing punch, a tennis swing, and just about any other contact sport. Turning your hips faster during your swing will dramatically increase the length of your drives and iron shots.

One of the most prominent examples of a professional golfer taking huge advantage of a fast, powerful hip rotation is Tiger Woods. His hips move so fast throughout his swing they are almost a blur.

To take advantage of this, you should ensure your hips follow the correct motions as to extend the plane of your swing in such a way that the swing is one big, fluid motion. During the down swing, your shoulders should be rotating about 90 degrees from your starting position and your hips should rotate about 45 degrees. If you exceed the 45 degrees or 90 degrees, your body will naturally open the clubface, leading to an extreme slice (since all of the power is now focused on slicing the ball instead of hitting it further).

As you swing through the downswing, you should be focusing on gradually increasing the speed of your hip rotation until it is its fastest at the bottom of the swing, and continues throughout the follow-through.

Some of the standard swing pitfalls should be avoided, however, as they could lead to topped balls and thin shots instead of launched drives, so be sure you do not fall into one of those. Pay particular attention to them when you are placing the untapped power of a strong hip rotation behind your swing.
