If you are experiencing golf swing problems then here are a couple of simple golf swing tips to help you get the perfect golf swing. Most golf swing instructions will provide instruction on the fundamentals that golf needs to cover, however, when you are on the golf course many situations will spring up.

It is often quite challenging for a golfing novice to spot where their swing problems stem from so, if you reach that point where you cannot fathom out what needs tweaking, one thing to examine is your back shoulder. Some players have at tendency to dip their back shoulder towards the ground during the back swing. If you are one of those who do dip your back shoulder, this can cause numerous problems to your golf swing.

Your timing will be thrown way off for a start but when you swing your weight shift will also be improper, you will almost certainly have a poor follow through position and at the point of impact you will suffer from a distortion of your hand position. There is however good news, the solution to the problem is fairly easy.

The next time your are practicing, at the range if you are on grass or at your local golf club’s practice area, place a golf ball under your back foot. You need to ensure that the ball is half buried in the ground but directly beneath your heel. As it is awkward to put pressure on the back foot now, unwanted weight transfer will not take place and your back should problem will happen. Continual practice using this method will enable you to a natural swing without any weight shifting towards the back, thereby fixing a number of swing problems.

Another problem that many golfers experience is Swing Speed. Beginners have a tendency to believe that swing speed is the vital ingredient and one the skill that has to be perfected. While swing speed is important, to constantly go around the course attempting every shot with a very fast swing speed will; almost certainly ruin the round. I would add however, there is no such thing as the perfect swing speed. If you are swinging the club very fast and not really connecting with the ball cleanly, try to slow your swing down. Let the power of the club propel the ball and not your speed & strength. Practice at the range and then when your have perfected an improved swing you can start to increase your tempo but make it gradual.

Having good posture during your golf swing is one of the many elements that can affect correct execution. If you have been playing golf for some time, then this it not new to you. First off, let’s look at the stance. Keeping your shoulders in line with your upper torso and not hunched over is a start. Also, your feet need to be spaced accordingly to the length of the club you are using. Closer together for shorter clubs, and more spaced apart for your longer clubs. A slight bend in the knees is ideal, with your arms slightly bent and in line with the golf club. This causes your front arm to be straight in line with your shoulders when you begin your back swing. It is important that you’re not hunched over at the shoulders, as this can affect this part of the swing.

You would be hard pressed to find a knowledgeable golfer who would not agree that having great posture is a must for attaining the correct golf swing. There are some things that you can do even away from the golf course to help improve your posture. Try to keep your shoulders squared in everything your do, from walking, sitting, and so forth. You’ll be amazed what this can do for your golf swing. Practicing your golf stance with a club in front of a mirror is another thing you can do. Watch the pro’s address the ball, because you won’t see them all hunched over before they swing. Get in the habit of good posture off the course, and it will start to become natural when you are on the course.

One good exercise to help with your golf posture is to have your arms behind your back, lock your knees, and stand straight up with your feet spaced out even with your shoulders. Look straight in front of you, lean forward until you feel a little bit of tension in your lower back and hamstrings. Then, keeping your balance, bend your knees slightly. Next, allow your arms to dangle in front of you like a rope. Your posture should be in the proper position to swing the club. Some light stretching before this exercise will make it less difficult.

The majority of folks that just play golf for leisure never think about their posture and how it relates to their golf swing. Strive to have better posture every time you line up to hit the ball, and you’ll start noticing how much better your swing gets. After a while, it will become second nature to position your feet, shoulders and arms correctly before you attempt your swing. Just remember, having good posture is just as important off the golf course as it is on the golf course. It is not a miracle cure for some swing flaws that you may have developed, but it is a good starting point in the pursuit of a proper golf swing. Once your posture is on track, then you can work on other parts of your swing.

While these various accessories may seem worthless if you don’t bring them along, you just have to keep telling yourself that you will be able to enjoy their functionality once you arrive back home. This will provide you with motivation to not bring the unnecessary items.

There are always things that can help you out in the middle of a game, and you will need to simply recognize which ones they are. Once you have figured out what will really be helpful while golfing, you can start to figure out the method of getting them around with you as you traverse the golf course.

Most Pro shops and driving ranges sell second hand clubs. They will also be able to offer you advice and let you try some clubs out. Just make sure that you don’t pay more for a used ‘branded’ set than you would for a brand new ‘clone glub set’ (see below).

Alternatively, nearly all driving ranges will have clubs for hire if you want to have a go without committing to a set until you get the hang of it.

Even the guys who play golf for a living and get the best golf instruction in the world still struggle to improve their golf; and they practice each and every day! Many golfers play golf just to hack around and have some fun; more avid players are always looking for ways to improve their golf swing and their overall game. Most golfers don’t know that eighty percent of the world’s golfers have a handicap of 18 or more.

A common mental error golfers make when driving the ball is to hit it as hard as possible. Visualize where you would like the ball to land, as you swing. Overall, you generally want to play golf with confidence.

Trust your golf club to do the job it was intended to do. Standing over the ball for too long a time and wondering whether you’re going to swing the club correctly can easily result in a skewed shot, or completely missing the ball. Make sure to use the proper technique.

Putts and short chips are ideally played without much movement of the body, but most other golf shots are played using variants of the full golf swing. When you swing if you have problems with your left knee buckling, imagine you’re holding a soccer ball between your knees.

The backswing is a rotation to the right, consisting of a shifting of the player’s body weight to the right side, a turning of the pelvis and shoulders, lifting of the arms and flexing of the elbows and wrists.

Swing slowly and steadily using a nice rhythm. Pick out a spot on the course, preferably the green of the fairway, and concentrate on hitting the ball to that spot. Use the muscles in your legs and trunk when you swing.

At the end of a swing, the weight has shifted almost entirely to the left foot, the body is fully turned to the left and the hands are above the left shoulder with the club hanging down over the players’ back.

It’s difficult for a golfer to practice hitting shots longer than short pitch shots unless one pays to play golf or pays to practice at a driving range or indoor golf training facility.

Conditioning your golf muscles will reward you with straighter swings. Hold a medicine ball and turn back and forth; it must be rotational to improve your driving distance. Turn to golf exercise and techniques if you want strength and power.

Most of all don’t waste your money on a golf swing aid you don’t need or will never use. Golf aids are often for sale at your pro shop or local golf shop. Be careful about the claims on TV commercials and magazine ads; seek expert advice before you buy because they may not live up to their claims.

There are a wide range of golf swing aids on the market today to help the beginning and advanced golfer. Whether you’re a seasoned golfer or just starting out, pick just one golf swing aid and go to work on your swing. Keep in mind that with some golf swing aids, you may still need advice or help from an expert.

Golf swing aids come in all shapes and sizes including apparel type accessories to correct alignment or a golf club add-on accessory to monitor your swing. Anyone who has ever played golf should know that the swing is the most important part of your game. You will never be able to consistently get good scores a lesser able to hit the ball precisely and accurately and get it to go where you want it to. Usually that means on the green, and not in the sand or the water.

For the biggest mistakes golfers make with their swing, especially newer golfers, is having far too much backswing. They do this because they want to hit the ball as far as they can. While distance is an important part of getting a good golf score, accuracy with your swing is even more important.

Another thing to keep in mind is that your technique is more important in your equipment. Too many golfers think that a shiny new golf club is going to magically lower their score, when in reality their technique is fundamentally flawed.

Do you play golf? Do you know how to swing your golf club right? If not, you probably need to know the golf swing sequence. That’s right, swinging the golf club has a sequence!

The golf swing is known to be one of the most complex and explosive moment in sports. Your body must be prepared to do this very athletic and powerful action successfully while without preventing an injury from happening. You have to be flexible and muscular. You must also be well-balanced. Having all these characteristics, you should be ready to learn the golf swing’s sequence.

There are five sequences that create a golf swing as defined by The American Sports Medicine Institute (ASMI) in Birmingham, Alabama. These are the set-up, backswing, transition, downswing, and follow through. In the set-up, you must do a correct posture. You must also have a good grip on the golf club. In the backswing, of course, you do the backswing. Make sure that you do the backswing slowly. Trying to do it as quickly as possible would only produce an undesired result. Doing it slowly builds up the power that you’ll be using to hit the golf ball. The transition is the part of the golf swing where you’ve finished doing the backswing and is about to start the downswing. When you do the downswing, the power now readies to be released. Your body and shoulders now begins to turn. The body’s turn also increases the power. The follow-through starts after hitting the golf ball. The arms automatically go up because of the momentum.

Learn to incorporate the golf swing sequence with your swing. It’s the only way to make a perfect swing and to lower your scores. Practice each of the sequences and perfect each one. The most important thing is to have a fluid and consistent swing, this will guarantee that you hit the ball straight and true each time.

I believe that we all have a certain way that we would like to swing a golf club. If you have been doing it for a while there is no doubt in my mind that you are set in your ways. And there is no doubt that it will be difficult to make you change.

That’s part of the dilemma that golf instruction is faced with. Lot’s of people want a Golf Lesson, but very few want to make the change to get them to the next level.

It would be next to impossible to talk about repeating a golf swing if the swing was already filled with mistakes. You would be in constant correction and perpetual confusion if someone told you to repeat a bad swing over and over.

You would think they were nuts. Wouldn’t you!

But, yet, when you go the range or on the course, that is exactly what most of you are trying to do. You spend tons of energy trying to repeat a bad swing.

Repeatability of performance is not a good idea if the performance is a sorry sight to see in the first place.

Is there anyone out there that would disagree with that?

The idea of repeating a golf swing is to repeat a ” good golf swing” I dare say that it is hard enough repeating anything that requires so much accuracy with so little time involved to do it.

My goodness, just imagine all that goes into trying to hit a ball so small, that is below your knees, with a club that is just a little bigger than the ball. And hitting it straight for several hundred yards, over and over and over.

To me it sound almost impossible.

Technically it is almost impossible. That said, people do it all the time. Kids do it, women do it, older men do it, I have a friend who is a paraplegic in a wheel chair and he does it. I have another friend who lost an arm in an accident and he competes world wide and he does it.

Many of these people do it very very well. They repeat a golf swing that works for them with the tools that the good Lord gave them.

They hit it straight and some of them hit it a massive distance.

So what’s your excuse?

I know I shouldn’t start raising cain about your motivations. Heck, I don’t even know you.

But I do know this. I have spent hundreds if not thousands of hours on the range watching people of all ages, of all sizes, shapes, and weights……. thousands, banging away at the ball. Repeating the most obnoxious golf swings you or I have ever seen. And they wonder ” what am I do’n wrong” I hear it all the time.

The answer is: You are repeating a really really bad swing. but the good news is, you are consistent. One of the two things that we strive for.

I have said this before and I will continue to say it. There have been almost no swings that I have seen over the years that could not be fixed. There has almost never been anyone I have worked with that could not shoot in the 80′s if they would just get out of their own way. And do the things they are taught.

So how do you get a repeating ” good golf swing” ?

You read ” How to ” books and then practice what you have read.

Or you go and see your local PGA professional and do what they say.

Or you do both. I have done both hundreds of times.

I spent more money than I thought it was worth going to David Leadbetter’s school in Florida.

Did I learn stuff? Sure I did. Did I practice what I learned. Yes .. Like a crazy man. And yes it worked.

I repeat a pretty good golf swing, do you?
