Even the guys who play golf for a living and get the best golf instruction in the world still struggle to improve their golf; and they practice each and every day! Many golfers play golf just to hack around and have some fun; more avid players are always looking for ways to improve their golf swing and their overall game. Most golfers don’t know that eighty percent of the world’s golfers have a handicap of 18 or more.

A common mental error golfers make when driving the ball is to hit it as hard as possible. Visualize where you would like the ball to land, as you swing. Overall, you generally want to play golf with confidence.

Trust your golf club to do the job it was intended to do. Standing over the ball for too long a time and wondering whether you’re going to swing the club correctly can easily result in a skewed shot, or completely missing the ball. Make sure to use the proper technique.

Putts and short chips are ideally played without much movement of the body, but most other golf shots are played using variants of the full golf swing. When you swing if you have problems with your left knee buckling, imagine you’re holding a soccer ball between your knees.

The backswing is a rotation to the right, consisting of a shifting of the player’s body weight to the right side, a turning of the pelvis and shoulders, lifting of the arms and flexing of the elbows and wrists.

Swing slowly and steadily using a nice rhythm. Pick out a spot on the course, preferably the green of the fairway, and concentrate on hitting the ball to that spot. Use the muscles in your legs and trunk when you swing.

At the end of a swing, the weight has shifted almost entirely to the left foot, the body is fully turned to the left and the hands are above the left shoulder with the club hanging down over the players’ back.

It’s difficult for a golfer to practice hitting shots longer than short pitch shots unless one pays to play golf or pays to practice at a driving range or indoor golf training facility.

Conditioning your golf muscles will reward you with straighter swings. Hold a medicine ball and turn back and forth; it must be rotational to improve your driving distance. Turn to golf exercise and techniques if you want strength and power.

Most of all don’t waste your money on a golf swing aid you don’t need or will never use. Golf aids are often for sale at your pro shop or local golf shop. Be careful about the claims on TV commercials and magazine ads; seek expert advice before you buy because they may not live up to their claims.

There are a wide range of golf swing aids on the market today to help the beginning and advanced golfer. Whether you’re a seasoned golfer or just starting out, pick just one golf swing aid and go to work on your swing. Keep in mind that with some golf swing aids, you may still need advice or help from an expert.

When learning how to swing a golf club, the successful swing relies on executing some golf fundamentals which include the grip, ball position and the stance. The ball position for your irons should be at increments in between these two positions; closer to your foot if you are hitting a long iron and towards the middle of your stance for shorter irons.

Another point that most miss is good posture. Make sure you are set up with your knees slightly bent when learning how to swing a golf club. Make sure you don’t reach for the ball or crowd yourself, stank at a distance that is comfortable to you.

Improving Your Golf Swing is Simple If You Know the Secret



Anyone who has ever played golf should know that the swing is the most important part of your game. You will never be able to consistently get good scores a lesser able to hit the ball precisely and accurately and get it to go where you want it to. For the biggest mistakes golfers make with their swing, especially newer golfers, is having far too much backswing. They do this because they want to hit the ball as far as they can. While distance is an important part of getting a good golf score, accuracy with your swing is even more important.

Another thing to keep in mind is that your technique is more important in your equipment. Too many golfers think that a shiny new golf club is going to magically lower their score, when in reality their technique is fundamentally flawed.

Mastering the Golf Swing Sequence



Do you play golf? Do you know how to swing your golf club right? If not, you probably need to know the golf swing sequence. That’s right, swinging the golf club has a sequence!

The golf swing is known to be one of the most complex and explosive moment in sports. Your body must be prepared to do this very athletic and powerful action successfully while without preventing an injury from happening. You have to be flexible and muscular. There are five sequences that create a golf swing as defined by The American Sports Medicine Institute (ASMI) in Birmingham, Alabama. These are the set-up, backswing, transition, downswing, and follow through. In the set-up, you must do a correct posture. You must also have a good grip on the golf club. In the backswing, of course, you do the backswing. Make sure that you do the backswing slowly. Trying to do it as quickly as possible would only produce an undesired result. Doing it slowly builds up the power that you’ll be using to hit the golf ball. The transition is the part of the golf swing where you’ve finished doing the backswing and is about to start the downswing. When you do the downswing, the power now readies to be released. Your body and shoulders now begins to turn. The body’s turn also increases the power. The follow-through starts after hitting the golf ball. The arms automatically go up because of the momentum.

Learn to incorporate the golf swing sequence with your swing. It’s the only way to make a perfect swing and to lower your scores. Practice each of the sequences and perfect each one. The most important thing is to have a fluid and consistent swing, this will guarantee that you hit the ball straight and true each time.
