If you are a golfer who is struggling with their golf swing, or you would just like to find a new way to raise your game it might be down to the fact that you are using a two plane golf swing when in fact a one plane golf swing could help you to play a more fluid swing that strikes the ball with more power. A two plane swing is performed by swinging the golf club backwards until it is at waist height and then raising it up and over your shoulders in a two part motion and this can sometimes wind up being a little confusing for the player.
Doing this can lead to over the top swings which are too hard and can actually make you miss the ball altogether – and this is not what you want when you are playing golf. Instead you should try to master the one plane golf swing which is a much more even and fluid movement that is not broken down in to two parts.
To perform a one plane golf swing you should aim to swing the club in a motion that goes around your body and not up above it as this can make you over swing and hit the ball too hard. Whilst performing the one plane golf swing you should keep your left arm (if you are right handed) moving across your body and not up it. Doing this will keep your golf swing as one movement and not an up and over movement as it is in a two plane swing.
So the next time that you are playing golf why not try to use a one plane swing instead of your regular two plane swing and you might be surprised at the difference that it can make to your game.
