you’re right on with this observation. why is it, then, that the ‘modern’ set up advocates a ‘centered’ hand position at address? i understand, it was easier for Nicklaus to achieve his ‘straight line’ address position due to his ball position, but even a ‘front of center’ ball position player would benefit from a straightER left arm / club look at address. Promotes a one piece takeaway, that’s for sure. Jack was the man! Along with Hogan, Nicklause knew HIS golf swing better than anyone.
